Ten Years

Ten Years

On 9/20/2024, I was been free from alcohol for ten years.

Myself and my life have changed more than I could have ever dreamed or imagined. There is life on the other side of abuse and addiction.

Juniper trees are my favorite trees. I always see them growing on mountains, or on top of rocks. Even though there’s no soil, the trees seem to be saying, “Here. This is where I’m growing. I don’t care if it’s hard, if my needs could be met easier elsewhere. I will find what I need and I’m going to thrive here.”

I love when people bet against me, or tell me I can’t do something. I thrive off external doubt. I can’t wait to prove others wrong. I am a juniper tree. I am going to do this, regardless of where I started or if there’s an easier path elsewhere. Just watch, and then wish you were on my team.
